Independence Day Quotes

"If there must be trouble let it be in my day, that my child may have peace."
- Thomas Paine (1737-1809)

For fun, I took five famous patriotic quotes and asked Brian, Ty, and Ladybug to finish the sentence. Some times they were right on, and sometimes, well, you will see...

1. A politician will do anything to keep his job--even:
Ty- kill.
Ladybug- if he fails.
Brian- lie.
Actual quote from William Randolf Hearst- become a patriot.

2. A man's feet must be planted in his country but, his eyes should:
Ty- be on the moon.
Ladybug- be focused on the world. (Wow...I knew I had a deep thinker, but, Wow!)
Brian- look at her boobies. (Hmmmm...Ladybug does NOT get deep thinking from her father.)
Actual quote from George Santayana- survey the world. (Ladybug was so close!)

3. Equal rights for all, special:
Ty- abilities for all.
Ladybug- things around us.
Brian- privileges for me. (Somehow this doesn't seem very patriotic!)
Actual quote from Thomas Jefferson- privileges for none.

4. Four score and seven years ago our fathers:
Ty- died.
Ladybug- died.
Brian- who art in heaven. (Bwahahahahaha!)
Actual quote from Abraham Lincoln- brought forth on this continent a new nation...

5. We must learn to live together as brothers or:
Ty-sisters.
Ladybug- sisters. (And they were interviewed separately and out of earshot!)
Brian- not. (I am detecting an ornery trend here...)
Actual quote from Martin Luther King, Jr.- perish together as fools.

Well that was fun! And enlightening!

May you and yours have a joyous, peaceful, and safe holiday. Remember to take the time to be thankful for the men, women, and families who sacrifice their lives and bodies to keep us free. God bless our soldiers.

Hugs...

The more I read about your little ladybug the more I love her. :)

I think your hubby was just being silly and your son is pretty good.

Hope you have a great 4th!
