Fun Monday- Revenge of the Cats

Today's Fun Monday is hosted by the creative Mommy Wizdom. She has challenged us this week to use our imagination and wit to come up with a story. But there is a catch. Isn't there always a catch? Here are the specifics of her assignment: ( I WILL BE HOSTING NEXT WEEK! LOOK FOR SIGN UP AND DETAILS ON WEDNESDAY!)

Themes to choose from:

A visit by your mother in law

Bedtime Stories

Raising a Teenager

The words: Ostrich, goosebumps, magazines, soup, cats, lethargic, noodles, tequila, doorknob, biscuit

Wild card words: prehistoric, Jedi Knight, cactus, periscope, humor

Your job is to write a story (true or made-up), poem, song, letter... whatever strikes you ABOUT one of the three themes. You must INCLUDE all 10 words. Wild cards words may be used in addition to or in place of the main 10 words.
Here is my version: I chose the theme Bedtime Stories and i used ALL 15 words!

Star Wars XVII: Revenge of the Cats

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, lived an Ostrich that was a Jedi Knight. Ostrich was a good Jedi and was assigned to protect his planet, Ur, from his peoples' (or birds', as it were) arch enemy, the Cat Clan. One day he was on routine patrol of his beloved planet, zooming in and out of the prehistoric cactus forest in his super sonic hover craft. He carefully looked through his periscope for any signs of the enemy when all of the sudden he began to feel lethargic.

That is when the activities from the night before began to flash through his brain and goosebumps formed on his featherless ostrich neck. As he began to feel sicker and more tired, he started to question his Peace Meeting dinner with the Skunks from the night before. The skunks used to be his enemies as well, but had recently asked for a truce and had offered him a wonderful dinner of tequila noodle soup and biscuits to show him that they had the best intentions of keeping their word. He had enjoyed the dinner with the skunks, and had even laughed at there attempt at humor when they imitated Pepe le Pew from the cartoons.

But now he began to question if the Skunks had truly been skunks after all. Was that a faint spray paint smell he remembered through his now foggy memories from the night before? Yes, yes it was. "Oh, no!" he thought. Those animals last night at dinner were not skunks...they were our enemy, the CATS in disguise! They spray painted a white line down their backs and drugged the soup! In his eagerness for a truce, he had trusted too easily! He remembered reading something about this trick in a Jedi magazine a long time ago, but thought himself too smart and cunning to be fooled this way.

Sleepy, sleepy...he could barely stay awake long enough to land his hover craft in the sandy desert. As he reached for the doorknob to get out of his craft, he lost consciousness and was never heard from again. The cats took over the planet Ur, and still rule there to this day.

The Moral of the Story: Never trust spray-painted cats. ;0)

Go visit Mommy Wizdom to see what others wrote!
